Massachusetts Same-Sex Marriage News
The SJC has agreed to hear an appeal to the Goodridge case, which legalized same-sex marriage in the Commonwealth. "The appeal asks the Court to stay its decision so that the process currently underway to amend the state's constitution by defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman can proceed...." From the Thomas Moore Law Center, who filed the appeal on behalf of C. Joseph Doyle, the executive director of the Catholic Action League of Massachusetts.

Westlaw Introduces SmartTools
Westlaw recently introduced a new feature called SmartTools. You can demo it here. "Smart Tools offer you alternatives for terms that appear out of context even though spelled correctly (statute of limitations for statue of limitations). They flag misspelled words and acronyms (HIPAA for HIPPA). And Smart Tools suggest related terms of art such as "frustration of purpose" for "impossibility of performance."' Source: inter alia
