Judge rejects bid by Sally Roberts to stop her son having radiotherapy, saying any further delays would be detrimental

A British Judge rejected a bid by Sally Roberts to stop her son having radiotherapy, saying any further delays would be detrimental.

"A mother involved in a legal battle to prevent her seven-year-old son from having radiotherapy to treat a brain tumour has been refused more time to seek alternative treatments. Sally Roberts, 37, wanted to explore alternatives including immunotherapy, the use of biological agents, photodynamic therapy, diet and lifestyle therapies and hyperbaric oxygen therapy to treat her son Neon, who is receiving treatment for a medulloblastoma, the high court was told. But judge Mr Justice Bodey said any further delays would be detrimental and not in her son's best interests and refused to adjourn the case for her to call evidence from alternative and integrated medical practitioners..."

STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP RECEPTION

March 27, 2012, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Faculty Dining Room (4th Floor).
Free food and beverages

Have you ever wanted to have your article or paper published? Have you ever thought about entering a student writing contest? Do you know some contests have monetary prizes?

The Associate Dean for Intellectual Life and Director of Legal Writing, Research and Written Advocacy, invite you to the Student Scholarship Reception to celebrate Suffolk Law’s launch of a new writing portal on the Law School website (http://www.law.suffolk.edu/library/services/competitions/) that provides information on writing competitions, and a list of resources that can help students write papers for publication. The information is valuable to students who are just beginning a writing project and also to students who have written an excellent paper in a class that could be publishable. Students will also meet people who can help them with researching and writing articles.
